While my novel hasn’t been published yet, I’m very excited to get the story out there. My company has a writing group and publishes a quarterly book of writing called From The Orchard. Kudos to Lloyd Hall, who is an amazing champion for writers and leads our writing group.
This quarter’s issue focused on the future, which was the perfect topic for my novel about a near-future world that explores the tension and moral dilemma of a duopoly in a world ravaged by drought.
I published chapter two to give my coworkers a sneak peek. I have to confess it’s an early draft, and I’ve made a few critical changes to my current version of this chapter. Nevertheless, It was terrifying to reveal something on which I had spent two years working largely in private. I have shared my drafts and ideas with a few confidantes but never with anyone outside my inner circle.
It’s out there now, though. So here’s to the future!
